Innovations in glass technology have changed the design & facades of buildings over the years, having a major impact on the skylines of our Towns & Cities today.
Glass performance has changed immensely over the decades, in terms of environmental control, aesthetics, flexibility, scale and how it can be connected to buildings. Architects now have even more flexibility to design on any plane, creating striking aesthetically pleasing buildings & facades. In our latest video Phil Savage Head of UK Sales & Processing at Pilkington UK, is interviewed at the Materials Innovation Factory in Liverpool; a recently built facility dedicated to the research and development of advanced material, where a stunning new glass atrium provides the heart of the building.
Advances in glass have allowed more and more buildings to be built with huge glass atriums and glass facades allowing light to flood into these buildings, creating comfortable environments to work and live in all year round.
