Installation at the PRISMA office building in Helsingborg, Sweden has been completed. A total of 592 façade elements were installed in under four months, covering an area of almost 6,000 square meters. The uniquely designed project presented a number of challenges, but STATICUS is justifiably happy with the end result.
“One of the most difficult but, at the same time, most beautiful challenges of the project, was to work with a 60-degree tilted prefabricated ‘stick’ façade. During the design of the building, we also had to apply a non-standard aluminum SG system solution and ensure the proper use of steel structures in the elemental system – our design engineers from Austria helped to do this”, says Karolis Radkevičius, PRISMA project manager.
According to the project manager, the profile system – developed specifically for this building – completely eliminated the usual drying process required in other projects. This solution saved both space and time, as the manufactured elements were delivered to the site more quickly, and ready for installation.
“We are very proud of another successfully completed project, and new tailored solutions”, says Aušra Vankevičiūtė, CEO of STATICUS. “This seaside office building was also appreciated by our customers at Skanska Sverige, who were delighted both with the smooth and efficient teamwork, and the end result.”
About the project
PRISMA is a uniquely designed, nine-floor office building with a 60-degree sloping entrance façade and a 13-degree sloping elemental façade. To implement these solutions, STATICUS used a profile system developed specifically for this project.
In addition to the usual straight façade elements, the PRISMA project required 46 corner elements, 11 of which are of complex geometries. All corner elements are extremely large, with dimensions of up to 2.4 x 2.4 meters. The ground floor is designed with a height of five meters, while the rest are equipped with standard four-meter-high elements. Due to the construction of the corner elements and their weight, steel pipes are used in the corner joints.
