Welcome to ASES’s March webinar that will cover the topic of Uncoupling Solar Light and Heat in Passive Solar Design.
Solar radiation consists of visible and infrared portions, which have different impacts on building energy savings and indoor environmental performance. Treating them separately in passive solar design may further enhance the solar energy utilization and maintain a comfortable room condition. In this Webinar, recent spectrally selective technologies in building windows and envelopes for both residential and commercial buildings will be introduced and associated design tools and methods will be discussed as well.
Presenters:
Julian Wang, Chair of Solar Buildings Division, ASES; Associate Professor in Architectural Engineering at Penn State University
Laura Hinkle, Ph.D. student in Architectural Engineering at Penn State University
