Currently, Thailand’s construction industry is booming. Experts expect this trend to continue for the longer term, attaching more and more importance to the concept “Green Building”. As a result, promising market opportunities are opening up for international companies which are involved in planning, constructing and designing of buildings. The trade fair architect expo in Bangkok brings together producers and dealers from the interior work and design industry with architects, contractors and other decision-makers. The established exhibition is the most important event of the industry in the ASEAN region.
It takes place for the 33rd time from 30 April to 5 May 2019 under the motto “Living Green”. About 400,000 visitors and 850 national and international exhibitors are expected to fill around 60,000 square meters gross exhibition space. Seminars and panels with international speakers round off the exhibition, an exhibitor forum gives companies the opportunity to present their products live.
In 2017 Thailand invested almost 36 billion US dollars in public and private construction projects. The institute KrungsiResearch has forecasted an annual increase in construction investments between seven and nine per cent until 2020. The focus lies on higher environmental and energy standards. Since the middle of 2018, a so-called Building Energy Code has been in force in Bangkok for existing buildings with more than 10,000 square meters and all new buildings to guarantee more energy efficiency and environment protection. Central elements of the regulation are construction materials, building structures, hot water, lighting and renewable energies.
